NEU: Focus on Focus

A Creative Learning Journey to the World of Creative Music

Konzept: Doris Rothauer & Ed  Neumeister

In today’s economy, business as usual doesn’t work any more. It demands fast and untested decisions that are flexible enough to permit adjustments as circumstances change. It demands innovative thinking and risk taking at the same time as high performance. It demands new standards in communication and leadership that are based on creativity. So, how do we foster creativity? As a core competence of artists, one possibility is to learn from artistic creativity and transfer its principles to business challenges.

WHAT

Focus on Focus is a Seminar format that helps develop a creative environment and thinking in businesses using the techniques and methods of the creative musician, addressing the following issues:

  • Creation & Innovation: from nothing to an idea to constructing something new
  • Teambuilding & Collaboration: assembling the support team and the performance team
  • Conducting & Leadership: balancing the performers while connecting support, confidence and spontaneity
  • Focus & High Performance: performing is composing in the moment
  • Creating an Audience: establishing a relationship based on passion and values

WHO

Focus on Focus features Ed Neumeister, conductor, composer and trombonist. As a performer he has been at the forefront of Jazz for more than 40 years developing a unique voice. Also working with high-level classical orchestras and ensembles has nurtured his focus on conducting and composing.

HOW

Focus on Focus can be booked as a 1-day seminar/workshop for small groups of 10-15 people, including introduction to Arts-based-Learning and case-work.

For large groups and business events Focus on Focus can be adopted to an interactive mix of lecture, demonstration and performance with Ed Neumeister and his Ensemble.
