BÜRO FÜR TRANSFER was founded in automn 2006 by Doris Rothauer and Martin Sirlinger. In January 2009 Martin Sirlinger departed to form Creative Industries Invest. Doris Rothauer continues as CEO of Büro für Transfer.
Doris Rothauer studied economics and art management in Vienna. Since 1986 she worked as an art curator, art manager and consultant, focussing on the intersection between art & economy as well as on the visual culture of the 21st century. Institutions she has been associated with include the Museum of Modern Art, the Vienna Festival, the Viennese Secession. 1997-2002 she was artistic director and CEO of the Künstlerhaus Vienna. She regularly lectures at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and is frequently published.
